Volcan Acatenango
Guatemala • Acatenango • Central American Volcanic Arc
Weather wasn’t on our side for this one. Foggy and wet on way up, thankfully held out a bit for a campfire dinner, then heavy wind and rain all night. They called off the summit, everyone slept in, and weather broke just as starting descent.
Big draw for this hike is the view of el fuego - the active volcano next door that often has lava flowing. No luck catching lava but a gorgeous view either way. Most enjoyed the campfire dinner and shooting shit with our guide. A fun trail dog on this one too.
