Beliefs

An attempt to give a window into my head.

On action

Things I don’t always live up to but aspire to.

  1. Kindness costs nothing
  2. Everyone has something
  3. Being wrong is fine
  4. Being weird is good
  5. Truth is always better
  6. Politeness != kindness

On work

How to get the most out of myself and others.

  1. Communication is nearly all that matters.
  2. Communication is nearly all that matters.
  3. Process is good insofar as it creates constraints and rhythm, which are good insofar as they create flow.
  4. Energy has many forms and it is best to ride waves, even at the expense of process.
  5. Have pride: it’s not good for much else but it’s good for doing good work.
  6. There’s no valor in suffering.

On being

My best guesses at what’s going on when we talk about experiencing.

  1. The core tenets of (western) Buddhism, as much as I understand them, to the degree they are even agreed upon, are phenomologically correct.
  2. We experience ourselves as a simulation in the form of a 2d projection mapped to a 3d sense model all rendered by the brain, which is not our self.
  3. Predictive processing model explains said simulation, active inference is the driving force behind action, and these two things have a lot of explanatory power.
  4. Vascular latching will be proven to be a missing piece in the story; it will provide scientific explanations for much folk and common wisdom.
  5. Conciousness is literally just vibes - electromagnetic waves to be more precise.

On the future

What it says on the tin.

  1. p(doom) is > 0 but not worth thinking about.
  2. p(weird) is 1.
